FARMINGDALE, N.Y. | The Farmingdale State College women's basketball team was defeated by Skyline Conference opponent St. Joseph's-Long Island, 62-29, on Tuesday evening in Farmingdale, N.Y.
The Golden Eagles (10-3, 6-2 Skyline) held a 9-6 advantage midway through the first quarter and used 11 unanswered points to take a 14-point lead.
St. Joe's-LI continued with seven more points to start the second quarter, before a 3-pointer by Rams' (8-5, 5-3 Skyline) freshman guard
Olivia Hoffman (Calgary, Alberta) halted the run.
FSC trailed 38-18 at the halftime break with senior forward
Alexandria Walbroehl (Mastic Beach, N.Y.) tallying 11 points in the first 20 minutes.
Farmingdale State was held to just 11 points in the second half as they fell by a score of 62-29.
Walbroehl pulled down seven rebounds to go with her 11 points, while freshman guard
Emily Tsiforas (Manhasset Hills, N.Y.) had five points and five rebounds.
The Rams will next head on the road to take on Sarah Lawrence College on Friday afternoon at 4:00 p.m.
