Men's Basketball Rolls Past MSMC for Fifth Straight Win

Farmingdale State - 95, Mount Saint Mary - 69
FARMINGDALE, N.Y. | The Farmingdale State College men's basketball team led 56-26 at the halftime break and cruised to a 95-69 Skyline Conference victory at Mount Saint Mary College on Saturday afternoon. The Rams won their fifth consecutive game and improved to 8-7 overall and 5-1 in conference play.

After Mount Saint Mary (1-14, 0-6 Skyline) hit a trio of 3-pointers to jump out to an early 9-5 advantage, a 16-0 run over the next four minutes gave FSC a 21-9 edge. Sophomore forward Kentrell Evans (Brooklyn, N.Y.) started the run with a tip-in layup and a dunk before junior guard Michael Notias (Manhasset, N.Y.) tallied the game's next 10 points. Freshman forward Jordan Tucker (Elmont, N.Y.) closed the run with a layup off the pass from Notias.

The Knights recorded a basket with 11:51 on the clock and Farmingdale State answered with a Robbie Siechen (Syracuse, N.Y.) 3-pointer and layups by Liam Buckley (Manhasset, N.Y.) and Jovayne Walters (Cambria Heights, N.Y.) to go ahead 28-11.

The Rams still led by 17, 33-16, with seven minutes to play in the first half and extended the advantage to 27 on two points apiece by Notias and Buckley and 3's by guards Jevon Santos (Elmont, N.Y.) and Sean Conroy (Staten Island, N.Y.).

In the final minute of the first half, Farmingdale State used a layup by senior forward Hamdel Mohammed (Bronx, N.Y.) and two free-throws by Siechen to take a commanding 56-26 lead into the break.

FSC led 82-47 with 8:25 remaining before Tucker was fouled and hit both free-throws to take a 37-point advantage, their largest lead of the game.

Farmingdale State maintained at least a 26-point edge as they went on for the 95-69 victory.

Notias finished 7-for-8 from the field, including 4-for-5 from behind the arc, for a game-high 20 points. Evans also shot 7-for-8 and tallied 15 points and five rebounds. Conroy recorded 10 points, four rebounds and five assists, while Buckley produced 10 points, six rebounds and three assists. Santos registered nine points and a season-high seven assists and freshman guard James Notias (Manhasset, N.Y.) added 10 points and four rebounds off the bench in the win.

The Rams finished with 27 assists as a team, tying for the third most in a single game in program history.

FSC looks for their sixth consecutive win when they play host to Manhattanville University on Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m.
