FARMINGDALE, N.Y. | For the third consecutive year, the Farmingdale State College men's lacrosse program joined forces with the Long Island Metro Lacrosse Foundation (LIMLF) for a wheelchair lacrosse game.
The event, which is held to raise awareness and promote inclusion in the sport, pitted the Rams against the Long Island Hammerheads. The Hammerheads are a local wheelchair lacrosse team sponsored by LIMLF. They are dedicated to empowering athletes with physical disabilities and showcasing the accessibility of the game.
Through these annual matchups, FSC and LIMLF aim to increase the participation in wheelchair lacrosse throughout Long Island.
"This collaboration is something we look forward to every year" said Farmingdale State Head Coach
Sean Chamberlain. "It's more than just playing a game. It's about raising awareness and showing that lacrosse is a sport everyone can enjoy."
