Rutgers-Newark - 4, Farmingdale State - 0
EWING, N.J. | The FSC men's soccer team fell to Rutgers-Newark, 4-0, in their final match at the TCNJ Classic on Sunday.
The Scarlet Raiders (3-2) came out quick, firing four consecutive shots in the first 6:27 of the contest. They converted on their fifth shot just over a minute later to jump in front, 1-0.
Less than three minutes later, Rutgers-Newark doubled their advantage off a corner kick to go up, 2-0.
FSC (2-2-1) trailed 3-0 before taking control late in the first half. The Rams tallied four shots, including one that hit the post, but were unable to convert as they trailed by three at the break.
The Scarlet Raiders scored on the only shot on goal of the second half as they went on for the 4-0 victory.
Farmingdale State will next return home for a non-conference match against Baruch on Wednesday, September 11th at 4:00 p.m. FSC will open Skyline Conference play this week as well when they take on Yeshiva on Sunday at noon.
