Rams Drop Pair in Road Tri-Match

Match 1: Kean - 3, Farmingdale State - 0 (25-6, 25-12, 25-16)
Match 2: Misericordia - 3, Farmingdale State - 0 (25-15, 25-11, 25-23)
DALLAS, PA | The FSC women's volleyball team dropped a pair of non-conference matches in a road tri-match at Misericordia on Saturday afternoon. The Rams fell to regionally-ranked Kean University, 3-0, to open the day before losing to the hosts in straight sets.

In the first match, Kean (4-4) rolled to 25-6 and 25-12 victories to jump out to a 2-0 advantage. FSC (1-4) led early in the third set, but eventually fell 25-16.

Farmingdale State senior middle blocker Mikayla Profeta (West Islip, N.Y.) recorded six kills, eight digs and one block, while sophomore outside Doly DeJesus (Geneva, N.Y.) finished with five kills.

The Cougars had three players produce 7+ kills in the win.

In the Rams second match of the day, Misericordia (4-1) captured the first two sets by scores of 25-15 and 25-11. Farmingdale State held leads throughout the third set, but the hosts registered six of the final seven points as they went on for a 25-23 victory.

Senior outside hitter Jenya Surlin (East Meadow, N.Y.) produced a team-high six kills, while junior Jada Pepanio (East Meadow, N.Y.) added four kills in her first action of the season. 

Farmingdale State will next play host to Bard College for a non-conference match on Tuesday, September 10th at 7:00 p.m.
