Men's Soccer Ties TCNJ

EWING, N.J. | Farmingdale State College opened the first day of The College of New Jersey Men's Soccer Classic with a 1-1 draw against the host Lions on Saturday afternoon.

FSC (2-1-1) took the lead 15 minutes in, as senior Rafael Castro (Cartagena, Colombia) converted a penalty following a handball by TCNJ (0-1-2).

The Rams remained ahead until 4:23 left in the match, when the Lions found the equalizer following a long diagonal ball to the left side of the penalty area.

Farmingdale State outshot the hosts by an 18-12 margin, while TCNJ held a 9-6 edge in corner kicks.

Junior keeper Rocco Dispinseri (Dix Hills, N.Y.) made four saves in goal for FSC, which rounds out play in the classic Sunday afternoon at 1 against Rutgers-Newark.
