Farmingdale State 2, Lehman 1
BRONX, N.Y. | A pair of goals in the final eight minutes of Wednesday night's game lifted the Farmingdale State College men's soccer team to a 2-1, come-from-behind victory at Lehman College.
FSC (2-1) conceded a goal to the host Lightning (0-1) 16 minutes in, but were unable to solve the Lehman defense until the 83rd minute of play. Rams junior winger
Tyree Baskin Jr. (Freeport, N.Y.) sent a right-side cross to the far post, which was played back across the face of the goal by freshman
Jean Mejia (Freeport, N.Y.). Senior striker
Olvin Yanes (Selden, N.Y.) was all alone in front of an empty net, and equalized the contest with his first goal in a Farmingdale State uniform 7:20 before the final whistle.
The visitors continued to pressure the Lightning, and registered the game-winning goal with 1:53 on the clock. FSC sophomore midfielder
Jose Mejia (Guatemala City, Guatemala) possessed the ball roughly 30 yards from goal, and sent a through ball into the penalty area towards freshman
Johnny Guillen (Locust Valley, N.Y.). Guillen's first collegiate shot beat the Lehman keeper, sending the Rams to their second victory of the young 2024 campaign.
Junior keeper
Rocco Dispinseri (Dix Hills, N.Y.) made three saves in net for FSC, which next plays Saturday at The College of New Jersey in a 1 p.m. kickoff.
