FARMINGDALE, N.Y. | The Farmingdale State College women's tennis team moved to 2-0 in Skyline Conference play Saturday afternoon, as the Rams shut out visiting St. Joseph's University-Long Island, 7-0.

FSC (4-3) swept through all three doubles matches against the Golden Eagles (1-2, 0-1 Skyline), including a pair of 6-2 decisions in the Nos. 2 and 3 flights. Juniors MacKenzie Gisler (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) and Gabriella Loria (Levittown, N.Y.) carded a victory in the second flight against Morgan Wind and Allison Goodyear, while classmates Mikayla DeMaria (West Babylon, N.Y.) and Rebecca Ness (Clintondale, N.Y.) emerged victorious at No. 3 versus Rose Ruopoli and Amalia Augustine. The Rams' top-flight duo of senior Lien Collings (Merrick, N.Y.) and sophomore Natalia Furchel (Manorville, N.Y.) rounded out doubles play with a 6-4 triumph over Madi Beatty and Amanda Andrew.

Furchel opened singles competition with a 6-0, 6-1 victory in the second flight against Wind, before junior Heather McGullam (Hauppauge, N.Y.) knocked off Augustine at No. 6, 6-1 and 6-0. Collings moved past Goodyear in the top flight by scores of 6-2 and 6-1 to secure the team victory for Farmingdale State, while DeMaria followed suit with a 6-0, 6-4 win in the fifth flight versus Ruopoli. Loria is now 6-1 in singles play on the season following her 6-1, 6-4 victory over Andrew in the fourth slot, while Gisler rallied from a one-set deficit at No. 3 to defeat Beatty, 4-6, 6-3 and 1-0 (10-3 in the super tiebreaker).
