Bileddo's Record-Setting Output Sends Men's Soccer Past Mount Saint Mary

Farmingdale State 6, Mount Saint Mary 2
NEWBURGH, N.Y. | Senior Anthony Bileddo (Carle Place, N.Y.) set the Farmingdale State College men's soccer team's single-game points record, while tying its single-game goals mark, Saturday afternoon in the Rams' 6-2, Skyline Conference victory at Mount Saint Mary College.

Bileddo notched nine points on four goals and an assist for FSC (5-2-2, 2-0-1 Skyline) against the Knights (3-2-1, 0-1-1). His nine points breaks the previous record of eight points by Ryan Paul, who is now tied with Bileddo for the single-game goals mark (Paul: vs. New York City Tech, Sept. 13, 2008). Bileddo is now one of just eight student-athletes in Division III this year to put away four goals in a match.

Mount Saint Mary went up by a goal just 63 seconds into play, before Bileddo netted the equalizer from 25 yards away in the 15th minute. The Knights once again went up by one less than five minutes later, before FSC scored five unanswered goals on the afternoon. Bileddo's second of the day came off an assist from senior right back and reigning Skyline Conference Defensive Player of the Week, Daniel Rivas (Westbury, N.Y.), to level the contest at 2-2.

The match stayed tied until freshman winger and reigning Skyline Conference Offensive Player of the Week, Jean Mejia (Freeport, N.Y.), broke the deadlock with the eventual game-winning strike three-plus minutes after the resumption of play. Bileddo completed his hat trick in the 56th minute off a pass from sophomore defensive midfielder Sebastian Monroy (Brentwood, N.Y.), before converting a pass from Mejia for his fourth goal on the day just 80 seconds later. Mejia rounded out the scoring off an assist from Bileddo 20:25 before the final whistle.

Sophomore keeper Anthony Martinez (Bay Shore, N.Y.) collected five saves in goal for Farmingdale State, who is now undefeated in its last four matches (3-0-1). The Rams are back in Skyline action at home on Tuesday night (Sept. 24) at 6 p.m., when they play host to the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy.
