Volleyball Falls in Four Sets at Western Connecticut

DANBURY, Conn. | The Farmingdale State College volleyball team's three-match winning streak was snapped Wednesday night, as the Rams (4-4) dropped a four-set match at Western Connecticut State University (6-5), 3-1.

Reigning Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week, Samantha Russo (Fr.; Bay Shore, N.Y.) put down a team-high 10 kills to go with 17 digs, while junior outside Delaney Keegan (Lake Grove, N.Y.) registered 10 points of her own on nine kills and one service ace, while passing a career-best 22 digs. Sophomore setter Sarah Rende (Wantagh, N.Y.) picked up a double-double with 28 assists and 15 digs, with middle blockers Mikayla Profeta (Sr.; West Islip, N.Y.) and Stephanie Nemecek (So.; Farmingdale, N.Y.) contributing 9.0 and 7.5 points to the Rams' offense, respectively. Senior libero Lana Ventura (Port Washington, N.Y.) tied Keegan for the team-high with 22 digs in the back row, marking the third time this season she's passed 20-plus in a match.

FSC is back in road action Saturday, when it travels to Manhattan for a noontime first serve at Hunter College.
