Farmingdale State 1, Maritime 1
THROGGS NECK, N.Y. | Junior winger Tyree Baskin Jr. (Freeport, N.Y.) picked up his third goal of the season Wednesday night for the Farmingdale State College men's soccer team, which played to a 1-1 draw at SUNY Maritime College in Skyline Conference competition.

Fifteen minutes into play, the Rams (4-2-2, 1-0-1 Skyline) – which forced 14 saves out of the Privateers' (3-1-2, 0-0-1) goalie on the evening – went ahead on road soil. Senior fullback and reigning Skyline Conference Defensive Player of the Week, Daniel Rivas (Westbury, N.Y.) possessed along the right flank deep in the midfield, and played a diagonal pass to sophomore midfielder Jose Mejia (Guatemala City, Guatemala). Mejia then sent a long through ball to Baskin Jr. down the middle channel, who outraced his defender and netted his third goal of the season to put FSC ahead, 1-0.

All but four of Maritime's 13 shots on the night came from outside the penalty area due to the Farmingdale State defensive pressure, but it was a 30-yard, turnaround strike just under nine minutes before the final horn that found the top of the netting and equalized the match.

Sophomore keeper Anthony Martinez (Bay Shore, N.Y.) made one save on the night for FSC, who is back in road Skyline action on Saturday (Sept. 21), when it travels to Newburgh, N.Y., for a 12:30 p.m. start at Mount Saint Mary College.
