COMPLETE 2024 USILA SCHOLAR ALL-AMERICAN LIST
LOUISVILLE, Ky. | The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) announced the 2024 recipients of its Scholar All-America honors Thursday afternoon, and Farmingdale State College men's lacrosse senior student-athletes,
Dan Erler (Smithtown, N.Y.) and
Kyle Kolano (Babylon, N.Y.), were both recognized by the association.
Erler and Kolano now are on a list of four FSC student-athletes to receive Scholar All-America praise from the USILA; Ryan LaFlare collected similar accolades in 2007, while
Jake Wandle garnered the recognition following the 2023 campaign.
A USILAÂ Scholar All-American must be nominated by his coach and be a student with a senior year academic standing and a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 (4.0 scale). He will have behaved in a manner that has brought credit to himself, his institution, and to college lacrosse both on and off the field.
Erler collected 28 wins (second-most all-time) in the FSC cage during his three-year tenure, and leaves the Rams ranked sixth and seventh in career saves (322) and goals against average (8.70), respectively. A two-time second-team All-Skyline Conference selection, he was named the Most Outstanding Player of the 2024 Skyline Conference Championship, as he combined for 24 saves across the Rams' two victories – sending the Rams to their first conference title and berth in the NCAA Division III Men's Lacrosse Championship. A Business Management major, Erler started all 20 of Farmingdale State's games this spring, helping the team to a school-record 16 wins by making 185 saves – the fourth-most in a single season in program history.
Kolano scored 63 goals and 27 assists across his two-year FSC career, after winning a pair of NJCAA national titles at Nassau Community College. He was a first-team All-Skyline Conference in 2024, as he led the Rams' midfielders with 42 goals and 58 points. Kolano played all 20 games on Farmingdale State's first offensive midfield line, and the Professional Communications major fired home three goals in extra-man situations on the season.
