COMPLETE ALL-SKYLINE CONFERENCE RELEASE
NEW YORK | The Skyline Conference's eight head men's lacrosse coaches have cast their ballots on the 2024 edition of the All-Skyline Conference Men's Lacrosse Team, and eight members of the conference-champion Farmingdale State College team have garnered recognition.
Included among the Rams' honorees are senior attackman and FSC all-time leading scorer
Thomas Stock (Selden, N.Y.), who was named Offensive Player of the Year, as well as freshman attacker
Adam Giovinco (Syosset, N.Y.), who garnered Rookie of the Year accolades. In voting by his peers, Farmingdale State 10th-year mentor
Sean Chamberlain was selected as Co-Coach of the Year.
Stock highlights a quartet of Rams on the all-conference first team, as he was joined by senior midfielder
Kyle Kolano (Babylon, N.Y.), freshman defender
Joseph Bleck (Farmingdale, N.Y.) and senior face-off specialist
Antonio Kaminskey (Lindenhurst, N.Y.). Giovinco leads a list of four Farmingdale State selections on the all-conference second team, including: junior midfielder
Tyler Kollar (Bellport, N.Y.); freshman long-stick midfielder
Sean Lawson (Mattituck, N.Y.); and senior goalkeeper
Dan Erler (Smithtown, N.Y.).
Stock enters FSC's first NCAA Division III Championship appearance as the single-season leader in points (98; 64g, 34a), as well as the school's career leader in both goals (146) and points (229). He ranks 24th in Division III in both goals (3.37) and points (5.16) per contest, while his 1.79 assists-per-game average ranks 87th. Stock, one of just two players to register 200 career points in program history, was a three-time Skyline Conference Offensive Player of the Week selection, and a one-time honoree on the USILA Team of the Week.
Kolano posted career-highs in goals (42; double his 2023 FSC debut season), assists (16), points (58), man-up scores (3) and ground balls (23). He enters NCAA play having scored in each of his last eight contests, and has registered 25 goals and 31 points during that stretch. Kolano was named both the Skyline Conference's Offensive Player of the Week, as well as to the USILA Team of the Week, on one occasion this spring.
Bleck's close-defense play has helped a Farmingdale State defense that has posted the nation's No. 18 mark with conceding just 8.42 goals per outing. Charged with marking the opposition's top attacker, he has notched 25 caused turnovers and 33 ground balls through conference-championship action.
Kaminskey is now a three-time All-Skyline First-Team selection in as many seasons as the Rams' starting face-off specialist. The program's career leader at the midfield "x" (859-of-1346, .638) has a 305-of-488 (.625) success rate this spring to go with a career-high 170 ground balls, and ranks 30th and 38th nationally in ground balls per game (8.95) and face-off winning percentage, respectively. Kaminskey was named the Skyline's Defensive Player of the Week on one occasion in 2024.
Giovinco was the only freshman to earn four weekly awards from the Skyline Conference in 2024, including three Rookie of the Week citations and one Offensive Player of the Week recognition. He has notched points in all 19 of his appearances in his rookie campaign, and is the team's second-leading scorer with 83 points on 55 goals and 28 assists. Along with Stock, Giovinco is one of only four FSC players to ever score 50-plus goals in a season, and his nine goals in extra-man situations is tied for the 23rd-best mark in Division III. He has also scored a pair of man-down goals this spring, while contributing 12 caused turnovers in the Rams' riding game in transition.
Kollar has registered a career season in his second year with Farmingdale State, as he has recorded highs in goals (33), assists (17), points (50), man-up goals (4) and ground balls (59) in his midfield play. His six goals and seven points at Manhattanville University on April 17 both set career-high marks.
Lawson's athleticism at the top of the FSC defense is best evidenced by his conference-high and school single-season-record mark of 51 caused turnovers. He enters NCAA play with an average of 2.68 takeaways per contest, ranking 22nd nationally in that category, and has scooped 78 ground balls on the year – good for the No. 2 mark on the team behind Kaminskey. Lawson was twice recognized with Skyline weekly awards (one-time Rookie of the Week, one-time Defensive Player of the Week), and earned one citation on the USILA's Team of the Week.
This marks Erler's second appearance on the all-conference second team in as many seasons as Rams' starting backstop. He leads the Skyline and ranks 25th in the country with his 8.95 goals against average, while his career-high .562 save percentage ranks 43rd. Erler has posted double-digit saves in each of his last three outings, and was named the Most Outstanding Player of the Skyline Conference Championship after making 14 stops in the semifinal against USMMA (April 30), and 11 saves at Maritime (May 3) in the championship final.
Chamberlain has now been named the Skyline's Coach of the Year on two occasions, having last been recognized in 2016. Minus two COVID-shortened seasons, the 2007 Stony Brook alumnus has guided Farmingdale State to 10-plus victories in each of the last seven full campaigns (2016-19; 2022-present), with this spring's 16 wins thus far serving as the school record in the NCAA era. Entering first-round NCAA play, Chamberlain owns a career record of 107-46 (.699) as the Rams' bench boss.
Farmingdale State owns a 16-3 record after sweeping through last week's Skyline Conference Championship with victories April 30 versus the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy in the semifinals (11-7), while capturing its first Skyline title and NCAA automatic bid in Friday night's 12-11 triumph at SUNY Maritime College. The Rams kick off first-round play in the 38-team, 2024 NCAA Division III Men's Lacrosse Championship on Wednesday at 4 p.m., at St. Mary's College of Maryland.
