FARMINGDALE, N.Y. | The Farmingdale State College men's tennis team won its 13th contest in as many outings Saturday afternoon, as the Rams picked up another Skyline Conference victory with a 9-0 decision over the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy.

FSC (13-0, 4-0 Skyline) swept through the three doubles matches against the visiting Mariners (3-4, 2-2), including identical 8-4 wins both at the top flight by sophomore Ryan Hendel (No. Merrick, N.Y.) and junior Vansh Aggarwal (Mumbai, India), as well as by the No. 3 pair of senior Muhammad Sawar (Brentwood, N.Y.) and freshman Ty Williams (Pt. Jefferson Station, N.Y.). Seniors Alan Sabovic (Bohemia, N.Y.) and Matthew Waterhouse (Massapequa Pk., N.Y.) rounded out doubles play with an 8-5 triumph at the No. 2 flight.

Hendel's 6-3, 6-1 decision at No. 2 singles gave the hosts a 4-0 lead, before Sabovic's top-flight win by identical 6-3 scores clinched the match for FSC. Williams used a first-set tiebreaker to win his fifth-flight bout, with senior Matthew Olkhovetsky (Great Neck, N.Y.) besting his No. 6 opponent, 6-4 and 6-4. Sawar's 6-2, 6-3 victory at No. 4 pushed the Rams' advantage to 8-0, before Aggarwal rounded out the day by coming back from one set down to win his third-flight match in a third-set super tiebreaker, 10-8.

Head coach Adam Waterhouse's Rams are back in Skyline action at home on Tuesday afternoon, when they play host to Manhattanville University in a 4:30 p.m. first serve.
