Men's Tennis Pushes Winning Streak to 12 at St. Joseph (Conn.)

Farmingdale State 7, University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) 2
WEST HARTFORD, Conn. | The Farmingdale State College men's tennis team pushed its program-record winning streak to 12 matches on Tuesday night, as the Rams remained undefeated on the 2023-24 season following a 7-2 victory at the University of Saint Joseph (8-8).

FSC swept the three doubles matches against the Blue Jays, including an 8-2 decision at the top flight in favor of sophomore Ryan Hendel (No. Merrick, N.Y.) and junior Vansh Aggarwal (Mumbai, India). Brothers Alan Sabovic (Sr.; Bohemia, N.Y.) and Emil Sabovic (Fr.; Bohemia, N.Y.) teamed up for an 8-3 triumph at the No. 2 flight, before senior Muhammad Sawar (Brentwood, N.Y.) and freshman Ty Williams (Pt. Jefferson Station, N.Y.) gutted out an 8-6 win in the third position to complete the sweep.

Hendel opened up singles play with a victory in the second flight by identical 6-1 scores, before Aggarwal's 6-4, 6-0 win at No. 3 clinched the team match in favor of Farmingdale State. Sawar bested his No. 4 opponent by scores of 7-5 and 6-1, while Alan Sabovic used a 7-4 decision in a first-set tiebreaker to then finish off his top-flight competitor from Saint Joseph by a 6-4 score in the second set.

Head coach Adam Waterhouse's Rams are back in Skyline Conference action on Thursday afternoon, when they welcome Manhattanville University to FSC for a 4:30 p.m. first serve.
