FARMINGDALE, N.Y. | The Farmingdale State softball team earned a pair of run-rule victories over Sarah Lawrence College on Saturday afternoon to improve to 6-0 in the Skyline. The Rams won 15-0 in game one, before a 12-0 victory in the second game behind a perfect game from junior Ava Shorr (North Babylon, N.Y. - W, 5-5, 5.0 IP).

Game 1

FSC put up three runs in the first, nine in the second and three more in the third to account for the 15-0 win in the opening game.

Freshman left fielder Isabella Marchini (Hicksville, N.Y.) led the way offensively for the Rams with three hits, two doubles, five runs batted in and two runs scored. Senior right fielder Jenna Giliberti (Bellmore, N.Y.) was a home run shy of the cycle as she had a single, double, triple, two RBI's and three runs scored. Freshman Anna Rahner (Islip, N.Y.) chipped in with two hits and two runs scored, while senior shortstop Angelina Capuano (Sayville, N.Y.) recorded one hit and two runs batted in.

Senior pitcher Allie Stanya (Babylon, N.Y.) did not receive a decision but tossed three shutout innings and added two hits, an RBI and two runs scored at the plate.

Game 2

In game two, the Rams scored one run in the second, two in the third and nine in the fourth as they went on for the 12-0 win.

Shorr struck out 11 batters en route to her third career perfect game (previous: April 26, 2022 at Yeshiva & March 22, 2024 at Yeshiva). Shorr also had an RBI double and a walk at the dish. In the fifth inning, SLC hit a ball through the right side, but Giliberti made the throw from the outfield to nab the runner and maintain the perfect game.

Capuano recorded three hits, including an inside-the-park home run and a double, while Marchini was 2-for-2 with a double, walk and two runs scored. Freshmen Ashley Toro (Islip, N.Y.), Madison Sturtz (East Islip, N.Y.) and Rahner finished with two hits apiece and Giliberti tallied an inside-the-park three-run home run in the win.

The Rams are back in action tomorrow, Sunday, April 14th for a doubleheader against Mount Saint Vincent at noon.
