NEW YORK, N.Y. | The Farmingdale State softball team earned two non-conference wins at Hunter College on Tuesday evening.
Game 1
Farmingdale State (13-7) took game one by a run-rule score of 12-4.
The Rams led 2-1 and put up four runs in the second inning to open up a 6-1 advantage. FSC extended their lead to 12-1 after scoring three runs in both the third and fourth innings.
The Hawks tallied three runs in the final two innings, but Farmingdale State senior pitcher
Allie Stanya (Babylon, N.Y.) secured the 12-4 win in five innings. Stanya improved to 9-1 on the season with the victory.
Freshman third baseman
Bailey Hammock (Port Jervis, N.Y.) was 4-for-4 at the plate with four runs batted in and two runs scored.
Game 2
In game two, the Rams led 1-0 after the first and scored three in the second on a two-run double by senior right fielder
Jenna Giliberti (Bellmore, N.Y.) and a sacrifice fly by Hammock to go up 4-0.
Farmingdale State led 6-0 after four innings and went on for the 6-3 victory.
Junior
Ava Shorr (North Babylon, N.Y.) earned her fourth win of the season, tossing a complete game with a career-best 12 strikeouts.
Giliberti ended with two hits, a double, two RBI's and two runs scored, while freshman left fielder
Isabella Marchini (Hicksville, N.Y.) recorded a pair of hits, including a double.
The Rams will next play host to Skyline opponent Sarah Lawrence for a doubleheader on Saturday, April 13th at noon.
