FARMINGDALE, N.Y. | The top-seeded Farmingdale State men's basketball team hosted No. 8 St. Joseph's-Long Island in the quarterfinal round of the Skyline Conference Championship Tuesday evening and earned an 89-64 victory behind 31 points from senior forward
Nick Hurowitz (Mount Sinai, N.Y.).Â
With the victory, the Rams (24-2) advance to Thursday's semifinal, where they will play host to fifth-seeded Sarah Lawrence (a 55-51 winner at No. 4-seed Maritime)Â at 7 p.m.
All remaining rounds of the Skyline Championship are cashless, ticketed events. Adult admission charge is $8, while senior citizens and children 12 and under are $4 each. Students with valid college ID are free of charge. A link to purchase tickets will be available later Wednesday, and advance purchase prior to arrival at the arena are strongly encouraged.

The Rams trailed 12-9 five minutes into the contest before rattling off 11 consecutive points. Senior guard

Jovayne Walters (Cambria Heights, N.Y.) made layups during the run with Hurowitz registering seven points, including a pair of 3-pointers.
St. Joseph's-Long Island responded with a 14-6 run over the next 4:35 to quickly knot the score at 26-26.
FSC held a 33-32 advantage with 4:32 on the clock before closing the half with 13 of the next 15 points as they took a 46-34 lead at the break.
Hurowitz made seven field goals and had 17 points in the first 20 minutes and opened the second half with back-to-back 3-pointers to put Farmingdale State on top by 18, 52-34.

Kentrell Evans (Brooklyn, N.Y.) made a layup and Hurowitz scored eight straight points to go ahead, 62-37.
The Rams led 66-41 with 13:06 remaining and took a 30-point advantage after a 3-pointer by Davis and jumper by Powell.
FSC maintained at least a 23-point advantage across the final 12:07 of the contest as they cruised to the 89-64 victory.
Hurowitz finished with 31 points on 12-for-19 shooting, to go along with seven rebounds and four steals. He shot a career-best 6-for-8 from 3-point range. Powell tallied a double-double with 12 points, 10 rebounds and three assists, while Davis produced 12 points, three rebounds and four assists. Freshman forward
Liam Buckley (Manhasset, N.Y.) chipped in with eight points and six rebounds off the bench and senior guard
Jevon Santos (Elmont, N.Y.) recorded seven points, three rebounds and a game-high five assists. Walters ended with six points and nine rebounds in the victory.
