MADISON, N.J. | The Farmingdale State men's tennis team picked up a 6-1 victory at Farleigh Dickinson University-Florham on Saturday afternoon. The Rams are now 2-1 in 2024 with two more matches this fall.
FSC quickly earned the doubles point as both the No. 1 team of senior
Vansh Aggarwal (Mumbai, India) and freshman
Zakaria Ahmed (Manhasset, N.Y.) and No. 2 pairing of sophomores
Ty Williams (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.) and
Kwaku Agyeman (Middletown, N.Y.) won their matches by matching 6-1 scores.
In singles play, FSC captured the fourth through sixth matches as freshman
Michael Lerman (Massapequa, N.Y.) registered a 6-4, 6-0 win in the fourth position, sophomore
Emil Sabovic (Bohemia, N.Y.) tallied a 6-3, 6-3 victory in the fifth slot and freshman
Jordan Gonzales (Central Islip, N.Y.) recorded a forfeit win in the No. 6 match.
Ahmed followed with a 6-1, 6-1 victory in top-flight singles and Aggarwal captured a tiebreaker 6-7 (3-7), 6-3, 1-0 (10-3) in the second spot as the Rams went on for the 6-1 win.Â
Farmingdale State will next play host to Division II opponent Adelphi University on Tuesday, October 8th at 4:30 p.m.
