FARMINGDALE, N.Y. | The Farmingdale State women's soccer team secured a 2-0 victory over Manhattanville University on Saturday afternoon in a Skyline Conference matchup. With the win, the Rams remain unbeaten in conference play, improving their record to 7-0-3. FSC has allowed just one goal in 10 Skyline matches this season.
It was Senior Day at Farmingdale State, and a special ceremony was held for its nine-player senior class:
Maddy Berry (Glen Head, N.Y.);
Mikayla Spiering (Parker, Colo.);
Alexandra Getfield (West Islip, N.Y.);
Shirley Hernandez (Long Beach, N.Y.);
Morgan Martin (Roanoke, Va.);
Gracie Heilbrun (Parker, Colo.);
Nicole Celeste (Farmingdale, N.Y.);

Farmingdale State (8-7-4) controlled play in the first half, limiting Manhattanville (6-5-4, 5-3-2 Skyline) to just one shot attempt.
The Rams opened the scoring in the 26th minute after juniors
Alexandra Coloma (Seaford, N.Y.) and
Alyse Rivera (Manhattan, N.Y.) assisted sophomore forward
Kayla Mendez (Staten Island, N.Y.). Coloma passed to Rivera, who sent a diagonal through-ball to Mendez for the goal into the lower left of the net.
Farmingdale State took the 1-0 advantage into the break and opened the second half with four unanswered shots. Manhattanville's first shot on goal came in the 71st minute, which was stopped by FSC sophomore goalkeeper
Hailey Stork (Bellmore, N.Y.).
The Valiants nearly tied the score with 11:55 remaining as they made a diagonal cross to set up Kelly Barrera for a breakaway. Stork came out of the net and made a diving save to keep Manhattanville off the board.
Just five minutes later, Rivera doubled the Rams' lead after winning an end-line battle with a defender and scoring into the top left corner to give FSC a 2-0 lead.
Stork made one more save in the closing moments as Farmingdale State went on for the 2-0 victory. She finished with three saves, extending her shutout streak to four consecutive matches.
The Rams will wrap up their regular season schedule with a home match against Yeshiva University on Wednesday, October 30th at 4:00 p.m.
