PATCHOGUE, N.Y. | The Farmingdale State College women's volleyball team fell in Skyline Conference play on Wednesday night, dropping a straight-sets decision at the hands of host St. Joseph's University-Long Island.
The visiting Rams (11-6, 5-2 Skyline) were led by a seven-kill, 11-dig effort from freshman outside hitter
Samantha Russo (Bay Shore, N.Y.), while also receiving 4.5 points apiece from senior middle
Mikayla Profeta (West Islip, N.Y.) and junior outside
Delaney Keegan (Lake Grove, N.Y.). Freshman setter
Sarah Rende (Wantagh, N.Y.), who led FSC with 12 digs, now has 1,091 career assists – good for No. 3 on the program's all-time leaderboard – after dishing out 16 helpers against the Golden Eagles (10-9, 6-1).
Farmingdale State is next on the road in non-conference action Saturday, when it travels to Mahwah, N.J., for a noontime first serve at Ramapo College.
