FARMINGDALE, N.Y. | The Farmingdale State women's tennis team hosted Hunter College for a non-conference match on Wednesday afternoon and earned a 5-2 win to improve to 10-4 on the season.
The Rams won all three doubles matches as they led 1-0 heading into singles play. Juniors

Mikayla DeMaria (West Babylon, N.Y.) opened with a 6-0 shutout in third doubles before the pairing of senior
Lien Collings (Merrick, N.Y.) and junior
Gabriella Loria (Levittown, N.Y.) took the No. 2 flight, 6-2. FSC sophomore
Natalia Furchel (Manorville, N.Y.) and junior
Amanda Jones (Mastic Beach, N.Y.) closed out doubles with a hard-fought 7-5 win in the top slot.
In singles, Loria put the Rams in front, 2-0, with an 8-0 victory over the Hawks' (5-5) Ava Cooper. Collings followed with an 8-2 win in the top-flight match, before Gisler secured the team match with an 8-4 decision in the fourth spot.
Hunter earned wins in the No. 3 and 6 matches, but the Rams closed with a tie-break victory by Furchel (8-7 (7-5)) in the second slot to give FSC the 5-2 non-conference win.
Farmingdale State will next travel to Manhattanville University in a battle for first-place in the Skyline Conference on Saturday, October 26th at noon. The winner of the match will clinch the No. 1 seed and home-court advantage throughout the Skyline Conference Women's Tennis Championship, which begins next Wednesday.
