FARMINGDALE, N.Y. | The Farmingdale State men's soccer team defeated non-conference opponent Hunter College, 5-0, behind a five-point performance from junior forward
Joseph Raso (East Islip, N.Y.) on Monday afternoon. The Rams improved to 2-1-1 overall, while the Hawks fell to 0-3.

Justin Silva (Bellerose, N.Y.) made a diving save to keep the game scoreless.
The Rams opened the scoring in the 28th minute as freshman defender
Mateo Soto (Shirley, N.Y.) sent a long cross in front which was headed into the net by Raso to go in front, 1-0.
With just 2:05 left to play in the half, Raso nearly doubled the Farmingdale State lead, but his shot rattled off the cross bar and over the top.
The Rams outshot Hunter, 11-2, in the first 45 minutes as they took a 1-0 lead into the break.
FSC controlled play through the first 25 minutes of the second half, attempting five shots, including one that just went wide by senior forward

With 18:16 remaining, Raso broke free down the sideline and drew the goalkeeper out of the net. He sent a pass to the middle which set up junior midfielder
Anthony Bileddo (Carle Place, N.Y.) for the score to put the Rams ahead 2-0.
FSC's third and fourth goals came only 47 seconds apart in the 80th minute as freshman midfielder
Sebastian Monroy (Brentwood, N.Y.) assisted both Raso and senior midfielder
Rafael Castro (Cartagena, Colombia) for goals.
In the final minute, Farmingdale State senior forward
Brandon Balcaceres (Farmingdale, N.Y.) drew a foul inside the box to set up a penalty kick. Silva stepped up and buried the goal just inside the left post to give FSC the 5-0 victory.
Raso had two goals and an assist, while Bileddo (1g), Castro (1g) and Monroy (2a) had two points apiece.
Silva stopped two shots in net and scored the first goal of his career.Â
Farmingdale State next heads on the road to play Baruch College in a non-conference game on Wednesday, September 13th at 7:00 p.m. The game will be played at Randall's Island Field #10.
