FARMINGDALE, N.Y. | The Farmingdale State College women's volleyball team opened its season Friday night at the Walter A. Lynch Sports Center, with visiting Ramapo College of New Jersey capturing a straight-sets victory over the Rams (25-18, 25-22, 25-13).

Senior middle blocker Kalena Ricketts (Cambria Hts., N.Y.) led FSC with a match-high 11 kills and two service aces for a 13-point evening, with freshman middle Stephanie Nemecek (Farmingdale, N.Y.) adding a pair of points from the service line. Freshman outside hitter Doly DeJesus (Geneva, N.Y.) passed a team-best nine digs while putting down five kills, with setters Molly Miller (Jr.; E. Northport, N.Y.) and Sarah Rende (Fr.; Wantagh, N.Y.) dishing out 10 assists apiece.

Head coach Kellie Block's Farmingdale State squad next takes to the road on Tuesday (Sept. 5), when it travels to Annandale-on-Hudson, N.Y., for a 6 p.m. first serve at Bard College.
