Pollock Sets Home Run Record as FSC Cruises Past John Jay

FARMINGDALE, N.Y. | Farmingdale State senior right fielder Bobby Pollock (Manorville, N.Y.) set the single game school record with three home runs in the Rams, 22-0, victory over John Jay this afternoon. The previous record of two was accomplished three times, by Domenic Palumbo (2018), Frank Yera (2011), and Ryan McAllister (2010). Along with the home run record, Pollock also tied the mark for most runs batted in with six and was second with 12 total bases. He also walked twice, including one intentionally, as he had a perfect day at the plate. Farmingdale State improved to 5-6 with the win.

The Rams led 2-0 after one inning of play and scored six runs in the second, one in the third and six more in both the fourth and fifth innings.

Junior first baseman Jordan Lambert (Plainview, N.Y.) had two hits, a triple, two runs scored and four runs batted in and senior third baseman Nolan White (Miller Place, N.Y.) was 3-for-4 with a double, two runs and three RBI's. Junior left fielder Daniel Molina (East Meadow, N.Y.) tallied four hits and three runs scored, while sophomore shortstop Chris McGuggart (Bethpage, N.Y.), senior catcher Louis Annunziata (Howard Beach, N.Y.), and sophomore second baseman Patrick Dallas (Patchogue, N.Y.) each had two hits, two RBI's and a run scored.

Junior designated hitter Daniel Deutsch (Northport, N.Y.) recorded two hits, a walk, one run and one run batted in and freshman center fielder Ryan Wasserman (Miller Place, N.Y.) tallied two hits, a walk and two runs scored.

Senior Brad Sakellarides (East Moriches, N.Y.) and freshman Nick Pompei (Manorville, N.Y.) added one hit each in the victory.

On the mound, FSC only allowed three Bloodhounds hits. Freshman Ben Ellenport (Massapequa, N.Y.) started and threw three innings with a pair of strikeouts. Freshman Derek Watts (Baldwin, N.Y.) (W, 1-0) and sophomore Will Stewart (Hicksville, N.Y.) followed with two scoreless innings and two strikeouts apiece. Senior Kevin Primm (Massapequa, N.Y.) (1 SO) and freshman Dustin Noto (Port Washington, N.Y.) (2 SO) closed out the game for the Rams throwing an inning each.

The FSC baseball team next will open their Skyline Conference schedule with a doubleheader against The College of Mount Saint Vincent on Sunday, March 26th at noon.
