FARMINGDALE, N.Y. |Â In conjunction with the
Office of Student Activities and
Campus Recreation, the Farmingdale State men's and women's basketball programs are hosting a tip-off event for their season-opening doubleheader on Wednesday evening, Novemeber 8th.
The event will begin at 4:30 p.m., with the men's basketball team tipping off against Eastern Connecticut State at 6:00 p.m. and the women to follow against John Jay at 8:00 p.m.
The tip-off event will feature music, giveaways, food, drinks, performances and more!
The
first 250 fans in attendance will receive a Farmingdale State t-shirt and a Rams rally towel.
A DJ will be playing in the lobby and a pair of food trucks will be available outside the front doors of Nold Hall.Â
Curbside Mexican Grill and
Tallucis Pizzeria will be handing out coupons, with Curbside also selling food. The Farmingdale State women's soccer team will be selling drinks and snacks as well.
The
campus book store will be in attendance selling FSC gear.
We will also have a live performance of the National Anthem by Jacinta O' Mahoney and Billy Coleman.
In addition, the Farmingdale State Dance Team will be performing at halftime of the men's basketball game.
Some lucky fans will also have the chance to win a gift card, courtesy of
Changing Times Pub. At halftime of each game fans will be selected via raffle to compete and whoever is the fastest to make a layup, free-throw and 3-pointer wins the prize.
Finally, the Farmingdale State Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) will be holding a food drive in support of Island Harvest. The committee will be taking food collections for the organization for the second-consecutive year in advance of the Thanksgiving holiday.Â
