Volleyball Sweeps Old Westbury in Skyline Action

OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. | Behind a .208 hitting percentage and 27 service aces that tied for the sixth-most in program history in a three-set match, the Farmingdale State College volleyball collected a 3-0, Skyline Conference victory at SUNY Old Westbury Monday night at the Clark Athletic Center.

FSC (6-10, 4-2 Skyline) received a career-best 22 points from junior middle Mikayla Profeta (W. Islip, N.Y.), who put down 13 kills on .571 hitting while tallying a career-high nine service aces against the Panthers (1-13, 0-5). Senior middle Kalena Ricketts (Cambria Hts., N.Y.) followed suit with nine kills on 13 error-free swings (.692) to go with six aces, while freshman outside hitter Doly DeJesus (Geneva, N.Y.) earned five points at the service line and led her side with nine digs from the back row. Freshman setter Sarah Rende (Wantagh, N.Y.) handed out 19 assists in two sets of work directing the Rams' offense, which included a 10-2-19 (.421) hitting line in the second set, and registered four service aces.

Head coach Kellie Block's Rams return home for Skyline play on Thursday night (Oct. 12), when they welcome Sarah Lawrence College for a 6 p.m. first serve at the Walter A. Lynch Sports Center.
