Bileddo, Baskin Jr. Lead Rams to Victory Over Brooklyn

Farmingdale State - 7, Brooklyn - 1
FARMINGDALE, N.Y. | Junior midfielder Anthony Bileddo (Carle Place, N.Y.) (2g, 1a) and sophomore forward Tyree Baskin Jr. (Freeport, N.Y.) (1g, 2a) combined for nine points as they led the Farmingdale State men's soccer team to a 7-1 victory over non-conference opponent Brooklyn College on Sunday. The Rams improved to 6-3-2 overall with the win.

FSC's opening goal came just 8:40 into the match when a Baskin Jr. shot was saved by Brooklyn (1-9) keeper Carl-Henry Obeissant before Bileddo immediately buried the rebound to go up 1-0.

Just 5:01 later, Bileddo tallied his second goal after getting to a loose ball and kicking it in off a defender.

The Bulldogs got on the board in the 22nd minute to cut their deficit to 2-1, but Farmingdale State quickly responded with a goal by senior midfielder Rafael Castro (Cartagena, Colombia) to regain the two-goal edge.

FSC took the 3-1 lead into the halftime break and scored back-to-back goals by Baskin Jr. and senior midfielder Luke Kasulke (Seaford, N.Y.) to take a commanding 5-1 lead.

The score remained 5-1 until 6:08 left to play, when sophomore defender Hubert Fryzel (Queens, N.Y.) found a loose ball and scored the first goal of his career from 15 yards out.

Senior forward Michael Lanouette (Hamden, CT) added a goal down the stretch, off the feed from junior forward Joseph Raso (East Islip, N.Y.), to secure the 7-1 victory.

Bileddo finished with five points on his two goals and one assist, while Baskin Jr. had four points. Castro had a goal and an assist for three points.

Senior goalkeeper Justin Silva (Bellerose, N.Y.) made two saves and earned the win in net for FSC.

The Rams next return to Skyline Conference action when they travel to Purchase College on Wednesday, October 11th at 7:00 p.m.
