Three Different Scorers Send Men's Soccer Past Purchase

Farmingdale State - 3; Purchase - 1
PURCHASE, N.Y. | Three different players scored goals for the Farmingdale State College men's soccer team Wednesday night, as the Rams picked up a 3-1, Skyline Conference victory at Purchase College.

FSC (7-3-2, 4-1-1 Skyline) went into halftime with a 1-0 advantage, as junior fullback Daniel Rivas (Westbury, N.Y.) buried a 20-yard shot into the top-left corner of the net with less than one minute remaining before the interval to give the visitors the lead over the Panthers (7-4-1, 3-3-1).

Senior winger Michael Lanouette (Hamden, Conn.) doubled the Rams' edge in the 74th minute of action, when he sent a cross-box pass from junior striker Joseph Raso (E. Islip, N.Y.) into an empty net to put his side ahead by a 2-0 count.

Purchase pulled to within a 2-1 margin 10 minutes before the final whistle, before senior midfielder Luke Kasulke (Seaford, N.Y.) restored Farmingdale State's two-goal advantage with his second tally of the campaign with five minutes to go.

Senior keeper Justin Silva (Bellerose, N.Y.) made a season-high nine saves in the victory for head coach Chuck Schimpf's Rams, who next square off with Yeshiva University in a battle for first place in the Skyline Conference standings Sunday (Oct. 15) at 4:30 p.m. from Overpeck Park in Leonia, N.J.
