Men's Soccer Draws at Mount Saint Vincent, Moves to Top of Skyline Standings

Farmingdale State - 1; Mount Saint Vincent - 1
RIVERDALE, N.Y. | Junior midfielder Anthony Bileddo (Carle Place, N.Y.) scored the equalizing goal less than 14 minutes before the final whistle Thursday afternoon at Marillac Field, sending the Farmingdale State College men's soccer team to a 1-1, Skyline Conference draw at the College of Mount Saint Vincent.

The visiting Rams (9-3-3, 6-1-2 Skyline) moved into a tie at the top of the conference standings with Yeshiva University, which they defeated on the road Sunday afternoon, as two regular-season match days are left to be played across the Skyline before the six-team conference championship commences on October 28.

FSC found itself down 1-0 less than nine minutes before halftime, when the Dolphins (6-4-3, 4-2-3) broke through behind Jason Otiniano's second goal of the season.

The visitors saw their offensive efforts pay off in the 77th minute of play, when a bouncing ball in the middle of the penalty area found Bileddo 15 yards from goal. The junior's half volley took one bounce and found the left side of the net, knotting the contest at 1-all. For Bileddo, the tally was his team and career-high 11th of the campaign, of which six have come in Skyline action to tie for the conference lead in that category.

Farmingdale State senior netminder Justin Silva (Bellerose, N.Y) made three saves for head coach Chuck Schimpf's squad, which is back in conference play Saturday in a 3 p.m. kickoff at Fleming Field in Yonkers, N.Y., against host Sarah Lawrence College.
