Only 37 seconds later, Farmingdale State freshman forward Jose Gil Mejia (Guatemala City, Guatemala) forced a turnover, gathered the ball and sent a pass for senior midfielder Rafael Castro (Cartagena, Colombia), who buried the goal to the left of the keeper to give FSC a 1-0 advantage.

Yeshiva had just one shot on goal the remainder of the half as the Rams took the 1-0 lead into the halftime break.

Five minutes into the second half, the Maccabees attempted a shot from 25 yards out, but Farmingdale State senior goalie Justin Silva (Bellerose, N.Y.) made a diving stop to maintain the lead.

With 30:42 remaining, a foul in the box to set up a penalty-kick shot for Yeshiva, but Silva dove to his left to make the save and quickly coraled the rebound to keep the Maccabees off the board.

Yeshiva had three more shots down the stretch with Silva stopping each one to secure the 1-0 shutout victory for Farmingdale State.

Silva now has 20 solo shutouts in his career at FSC and has tied the school record held by Patrick Gubbins since 2009.
