FARMINGDALE, N.Y. | The Farmingdale State College volleyball team rode 10 service aces and a season-best .327 hitting percentage to its seventh-consecutive victory Tuesday night at the Walter A. The host Rams (8-7, 5-1 Skyline) registered a 44-11-101 hitting line, and collected double-digit aces at the service line for the fifth time during their winning streak and 10th match overall. In total, 14 of the 15 FSC student-athletes who saw action in the contest recorded points or assists.

Setters Lexi Cavalieri (Sr.; Lake Grove, N.Y.) and Lana Ventura (So.; Pt. Washington, N.Y.) each registered two service aces, while sophomore Molly Miller (E. Northport, N.Y.) led all players with a season-best 17 assists. Seniors Madisyn Pozo (Bayside, N.Y.) and Mikayla Dalton (Mineola, N.Y.) led the back-line defense with 12 and 10 digs, respectively.

The Rams hit .444 (14-2-27) in the first set, along with a 8-for-11 (.727) sideout percentage, to cruise to a 1-0 advantage in the match. Cavalieri served the first five points of the set, while adding another five-serve streak to push her side's edge to 22-9.

After falling behind in the second set to the Bears (4-9, 3-3) by a 13-9 count, Dalton's serving knotted the match at 13-all before Ventura served eight-consecutive points following a tie-breaking kill at 15-all by sophomore Jenya Surlin (E. Meadow, N.Y.) to take control.

Farrell posted a 6-2-10 (.400) hitting line in the third set to help lock up the FSC victory.

Head coach Kellie Block's Farmingdale State team now sits in a five-way tie of one-loss teams at the top of the Skyline standings, and continues conference play Thursday night (Oct. 13) in a 7 p.m. first serve at fellow once-beaten St. Joseph's-Long Island.
