Purchase, N.Y. - At this past weekend's Purchase Invite, the Farmingdale State women's volleyball team posted a 1-3 record in their four matches. The Rams now stand at 5-8 on the season.

In the match against Montclair State, the Rams were led by junior opposite Sarah Palladino (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) and sophomore middle blocker Maia Cadle-Hinton (Huntington, N.Y.) who each recorded a game-high 11 kills. Junior libero Francesca Calderon (Wheatley Heights, N.Y.) tallied a game-high 15 digs in the loss.

In the four set victory over Albertus Magnus, Palladino had eight kills, eight digs and 10 assists, while Calderon led Farmingdale State with 15 digs. Cadle-Hinton finished with seven kills, six service aces and six blocks.

After dropping the first two sets against SUNYIT, the Rams captured the third set and won the fourth 31-29 to force a deciding fifth set. SUNYIT held off Farmingdale State and earned a 15-13 victory in the final set. Cadle-Hinton had game-high's with 13 kills and six blocks, while Amanda Masson (Rockville Centre, N.Y.) and Christina Hickey (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) totaled seven and six kills, respectively. Junior setter Megan Pisciotta (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) recorded 21 assists and Palladino had three aces and 14 digs.

In the Invitationals final match versus Rutgers-Newark, Palladino tallied nine kills, while sophomore middle blocker Barbara Wright (Farmingdale, N.Y.) had seven kills. Calderon led the Rams with 16 digs and Pisciotta recorded 18 assists.

Farmingdale State next will host William Paterson in a non-conference match on Thursday, September 18th at 7:00 p.m.
