Romero's Late Score Leads Rams Past Brooklyn

Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's soccer team improved to 2-4 on the season after picking up a 1-0 non-conference victory over Brooklyn College on Wednesday. The Bulldogs fell to 2-3 on the year.

In the first half, Brooklyn College held a 9-3 shot advantage and had six corner kicks but senior goalkeeper Angelo Viteritti (Huntington, N.Y.) tallied four saves to keep the game tied 0-0 at the halftime break.

With 5:27 left to play in regulation, sophomore midfielder Victor Romero (Bay Shore, N.Y.) received a cross in front from Orlandy Charleston (Fresh Meadows, N.Y.) and scored in the top left corner of the goal to give Farmingdale State a 1-0 road victory.

Viteritti finished the day with 10 saves, while senior goalie Stamatis Boundouris (Brooklyn, N.Y.) had three saves in the loss.

The Rams next will travel to Purchase for a Skyline Conference game on Saturday, September 21st at 2:00 p.m.
