Throggs Neck, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's soccer team earned a 1-0 victory in the first round of the Skyline Conference playoffs at Maritime this evening.

After a scoreless first half, Farmingdale State (9-6-3) senior midfielder Matt Kirby (West Islip, N.Y.) scored the game-winning goal with 14:09 remaining. Kirby, who scored off of his own rebound, clinched a berth for the Rams in the Skyline Conference Semifinals.

Senior goalkeeper Angelo Viteritti (Huntington, N.Y.) tallied four saves as he recorded his seventh shutout of the season. Sophomore Karl Weber (Northport, N.Y.) had seven saves in the loss for Maritime (8-11-2).

The Rams will travel to top-seeded The Sage Colleges on Wednesday, November 6th at 1:00 p.m.
