- NYU Division III Challenge, Armory Track & Field Center -

New York, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State indoor track teams took part in the NYU Division III Challenge on Saturday, February 18th at the Armory Track & Field Center. Both the men's and women's teams finished in 8th place at the meet.

Junior Edward Brown (Bay Shore, N.Y.) finished in 1st place in the Weight Throw (17.69m - 58' 0.5"). Sophomore Alix Lamarre (North Bellmore, N.Y.) took 3rd place in Long Jump (6.67m - 21' 10.75"), while freshman Ieshawn Johnson took 3rd in the Weight Throw (14.85m - 48' 8.75") and also took 5th place in the Shot Put (12.79m - 41' 11.5").

The 4000 Meter Medley team of Russell Darress, Donnell Jones, William Frederic and Sean Tiernan took a 6th place finish with a time of 10:38.25, moving them to #6 on the All-Time list.

The women's team was highlighted by two ECAC qualifying times from junior Victoria Mandat (West Babylon, N.Y.). She improved her 60m Hurdles qualifier by .05 seconds with a 3rd place finish and time of 9.28, then added her 2nd qualifying event of 200 Meters with a 4th place finish in 26.85 seconds.

Junior Joanna Pavone (West Islip, N.Y.) broke her own school record with a vault of 2.90m (9' 6.25"). Sophomore Katherine Hoskins (Valley Stream, N.Y.) finished 5th in the 60 Meter Trials with a time of 8.13, moving her into #6 on the All-Time 55 Meter list after the conversion with a time of 7.58. She finished 3rd in the Finals in 8.22, behind Kathleen Clermont at 8.15.

Sophomore Melissa Bonilla (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) ran 1:25.93 in the 500 Meters with an 8th place finish. She moves to #4 on the All-Time list.
