RESULTS
NEW HAVEN, CONN. | The Farmingdale State indoor track and field teams competed at the Southern Connecticut State Last Chance meet on Friday afternoon. The Rams posted four victories in the meet that featured four other schools.
Sophomore
Nicholas Lourenco (Bay Shore, N.Y.) continued his strong season with another win in the pole vault. He cleared a height of 4.85m (15' 11"), which was nearly three feet higher than the runner-up.
Sophomore
Matthew Latimer (Wyandanch, N.Y.) earned the victory in the men's 400m with a time of 51.47, almost two seconds quicker than any other competitor.
Sophomore
Daniel Bamfo (Lake Grove, N.Y.) took first out of seven in the triple jump. He posted a regional-qualifying mark of 14.09m (46' 2.75"). Bamfo also competed in the long jump and finished seventh with a length of 6.26m (20' 6.5").
The Rams fourth victory came in the women's 800m, as senior
Alycia Haynes (Adams Center, N.Y.) won with a time of 2:40.10.
Junior
Dontay Taylor (Saint Vincent and the Grenadines) earned second place in the 200m dash in personal-best time of 23.37. He also ran in the 55m prelims (6.85) and final (6.77), good for fifth place overall.
Sophomore
Samuel Aladegboungbe (Bay Shore, N.Y.) recorded second place in the high jump with a career-best mark of 1.75m (5' 8.75"). Aladegboungbe tallied third in the 400m (53.51) as well.
Junior
Jovany Philippe (Huntington, N.Y.) produced a personal-best, regional-qualifying mark in the long jump. He placed fourth with a length of 6.77m (22' 2.5").
Other personal bests on the men's side included,
Isaiah Mehnert (West Babylon, N.Y.) in the triple jump (12.40m - 40' 8.25") and
Adonias Mercado (Hillsdale, N.Y.) in the weight throw (13.69m - 44' 11").
Finally, senior
Alexxis McNeil (Valley Stream, N.Y.) ran in the women's 55m, earning fourth in the preliminaries (7.58) before placing third in the final (7.61).
The Rams next head to the All-Atlantic Region Championships, which will be held at Nazareth University in Rochester, N.Y., on Friday and Saturday, March 1st and 2nd.
