Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's basketball team had six players score in double-digits as the Rams defeated Skyline Conference rival Old Westbury, 87-70, this evening in Farmingdale, N.Y. Tonight's game, the "This is my Season" Tip Off, was a fundraiser for the Dominic A. Murray 21 Memorial Foundation, Inc. and a special night of ballin' for Heart Awareness to raise awareness of Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA).

Farmingdale State (13-8, 12-4 Skyline) held a 41-30 lead early in the second half, before the Panthers (8-12, 7-8 Skyline) went on a 13-4 run and cut the deficit to two with 15:39 remaining. Old Westbury trailed 50-49 with 11:44 to play, but a quick 15-2 run over the next 3:42, put the Rams ahead 65-51. Farmingdale State held a double-digit lead throughout the final eight minutes to earn the 87-70 Skyline victory.

Senior guard John Dabney (Freeport, N.Y./Freeport) and junior guard Dyshaun Flournoy (Brentwood, N.Y./Brentwood) led Farmingdale State with 15 points apiece, while junior forward Robert Adon (New York, N.Y./A. Philip Randolph) scored 13. Junior guard Joshua Smith (Deer Park, N.Y./Deer Park) pitched in with 12 points and junior guard Richard Payton (Amityville, N.Y./Amityville) and senior forward Jermaine Abraham (Brooklyn, N.Y./Wadleigh) scored 11 and 10 points, respectively.

Old Westbury was led by freshman guard Scott Arias (New York, N.Y./Rice) who recorded a game-high 20 points. Senior guard Tymel Ambrose (Brooklyn, N.Y./Grady) had nine assists and six rebounds in the loss.

Farmingdale State will travel to Purchase College for a Skyline matchup on Thursday, February 10th at 8:00 p.m.
