Box Score Nersesian Plays Every Position on Senior
Night
Farmingdale State - 16, St. Joseph's - 4
Farmingdale, N.Y. - Senior catcher Zak Nersesian*
(Valley Cottage, N.Y./Nyack) played in every position tonight,
completing this feat for the first time in program history, as the
Rams defeated St. Joseph's 16-4 and improved to 24-13 overall. The
Rams had 12 seniors honored before the game, and they then combined
for 16 of tonights 19 hits and 9-of-13 RBI's in the win.
Nersesian started at catcher, before making his way around to
first, second, third, short, left, center, right and then pitching
the final two outs of the game. He will go down in Farmingdale
State baseball history as the first Ram to do this in a Division
III game. Coaches Danny Maccagli and John Anarumo came up with the
idea, as Coach Osik had also played every position in a game during
his junior year at LSU, and they thought Zak earned and deserved
it.
12 seniors were honored tonight, including Nersesian, infielder
John
Matteo (Searingtown, N.Y./St. Mary's), pitcher Steve King
(Freeport, N.Y./Freeport), pitcher Ian Solomon
(Northport, N.Y./Northport), outfielder Frank Ennis

(Medford, N.Y./Patchogue-Medford), first baseman Mike Labrozzi*
(Sag Harbor, N.Y./Pierson), pitcher Patrick
Gilbride (East Meadow, N.Y./East Meadow), outfielder Vinny Block
(Merrick, N.Y./Chaminade), pitcher Mike Biasi
(Copiague, N.Y./Copiague), outfielder Matt
Weingartner (Westbury, N.Y./Clarke) and outfielder Donny
Moscatelli* (Massapequa, N.Y./Massapequa).
The Rams scored five runs on five hits in the first inning,
before St. Joe's got three runs back in the top of the second on
two hits and one error to make it 5-3. But Farmingdale exploded for
a 10-run second with 10 more hits to build up a 15-3 advantage
which would hold until the eighth inning when they added one more
run for the 16-3 lead. The Golden Eagles scored in the ninth on an
RBI single to make it 16-4, but Nersesian struck out the final
batter to secure the victory.
