Box Score Rams Move into Third Place in Skyline with Win at St.
Joe's
Farmingdale State - 81, St. Joseph's - 69
Patchogue, N.Y. - With an 81-69 victory over St.
Joseph's College on Thursday night, the Farmingdale State men's
basketball team improved to 7-3 in the Skyline to move into a third
place tie in the Conference Standings. The Rams are now 7-8 overall
this season, while the Golden Eagles now stand at 11-4, 7-3 in the
conference.
Farmingdale State held the edge at the break, leading 48-39 on
St. Joe's home court after shooting 51-percent from the field. In
the second half, the Rams held the Golden Eagles to 26-percent in
the second half to take the road win and split the season series at
1-1.
Junior guard Shahee Martin (Queens, N.Y./Hempstead) scored 29
points to lead Farmingdale, as he was perfect from the line making
10-of-10 free throws and hit 5-of-7 from three-point territory.
Senior guard Terrence Howard (Queens, N.Y./Cardozo) led the
rebounding with a game-high 14, while freshman guard Ricco Oliver
(Brooklyn, N.Y./Boys and Girls) hit four three's and finished with
15 points. Junior forward Nikita Davis (Brooklyn,
N.Y./Telecommunications) had a double-double with 11 points and 10
rebounds.
For St. Joseph's, senior center Sean Hyde (Shirley, N.Y./William
Floyd) had 14 points and 13 rebounds, while senior guard Matt Weeks
(Hampton Bays, N.Y./Hampton Bays) contributed 13 points and
sophmore guard Trey Black (Bayport, N.Y./Bayport-Blue Point)
finished with 10 points.
Farmingdale State now hosts The Sage Colleges in another Skyline
Conference match-up on Saturday, January 23rd at 3:00 p.m.
