Women Place Third at Ursinus Five Team Meet
- Magee breaks school record in the 200-meter -
Collegeville, Pa. - The Farmingdale State
women's indoor track team placed third at the Ursinus College Five
Team Meet on Friday, December 11th. Freshman Corine Magee (Mastic,
N.Y./William Floyd) broke the school record in the 200-meter,
winning the event with a time of 26.28. The previous record, held
by Charmaine Dixon, was set in 1992. Corine also placed 2nd in the
55-meter in 7.43.
The women's team scored 79 points for the third place finish,
taking 1st place in Magee's 200-meter win and also taking the 55m
Hurdles as freshman Victoria Mandat (West Babylon, N.Y./North
Babylon) won in 9.36. Ursinus won the meet with 194 points, taking
1st place in 7-of-16 events. Division I Coppin State narrowly beat
Farmingdale for second place with 82 points. Division II Cheyney
was fourth with 57 points and Cabrini finished fifth with 23
points.
Mandat's win in the 55m Hurdles was her second win in a row,
while freshman teammate Casey Bergin (Syosset, N.Y./Syosset) placed
second in 9.84.
Freshman Faustine Chukwuezi (Central Islip, N.Y./Central Islip)
placed second in the Long Jump with a leap of 4.86m (15' 11 1/2")
and third in the Triple Jump in 10.21m (33' 6").
