Coach Waterhouse has earned Skyline Conference Coach of the Year honors 13 times in his career - 2008-09 (men), 2010-11 (men), 2011-12 (men), 2012-13 (women & men), 2015-16 (women), 2018-19 (men), 2019-20 (women), 2021 (men & women), 2022 (women), 2024 (men) and 2025 (men).

The women's team has captured eight Skyline Conference titles (2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2024), advancing to the NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Championship on each of those occasions. Waterhouse currently holds a career record of 183-86 (.680) with the women's team.
Waterhouse was born and raised in Plattsburgh, N.Y., and is a 1980 graduate of Plattsburgh High School, where he qualified for the New York State High School Championships three of his four years (1978, 1979, 1980). He received a Bachelor's Degree in Biology from SUNY Oswego in 1984. At Oswego, Waterhouse played four years of tennis and was a team captain in 1983 and 1984.
After college, Waterhouse was a part-time tennis pro and was the head coach of the boys and girls tennis teams at Plainedge High School from 1989-2006. Since 2002, he has been the director of three annual summer tennis camps through Long Island Sports Camps.
Waterhouse retired in 2018 after serving as the Coordinator of the Science Department at Plainedge High School, as well as teaching college level Biology. He resides in Massapequa Park, N.Y., with his wife, Denise, and three kids – Joseph, Katie and Matthew.
