Biography

Ava is a 2021 graduate of North Babylon High School, where she was named All-County (5x) and Pitcher of the Year (2x). Ava is the daughter of Tracie Shorr.

2024...Second Team All-Skyline Conference...four-time Skyline Conference Pitcher of the Week (March 26; April 16, 30; May 7)...ranked second in the Skyline in ERA (1.54; No. 55 in Division III), third in opposing batting average (.215) and fourth in both strikeouts (119) and wins (13)...fired perfect game at Yeshiva (March 22), and against Sarah Lawrence (April 13)...tossed no-hitter versus Purchase (May 4)...tied for 20th nationally with seven shutouts...drove in 12 runs and scored nine times across 72 at-bats at the dish.

2023...NFCA Third Team All-Region III as a Utility/Pitcher...First Team All-Skyline Conference as a pitcher...registered a 13-6 record in 19 starts in the circle, posting a .228 opposing batting average and 2.65 ERA -- both tops on the team and ranked fourth and fifth in the Skyline, respectively...tossed pair of five-inning no-hitters (at Sarah Lawrence, April 16; vs. St. Joseph's-L.I., April 23) in a one-week span...ranked nationally in shutouts (42nd, 5), complete games (64th, 16) and ins (93rd)...at the dish, batted .295 with five doubles, 11 runs scored and 16 RBI.

2022...NFCA Second Team All-Region III as a Utility/Pitcher...Skyline Conference Rookie of the Year...First Team All-Skyline Conference as both a pitcher, and in the utility position...two-time Skyline Rookie of the Week (April 4, May 2)...one-time Skyline Pitcher of the Week (May 2)...fired third perfect game in school history April 26 at Yeshiva, throwing just 42 pitches (38 strikes) in the five-inning contest...appeared in 31 contests (30 starts)...pitched to a 13-2 (third-most wins in the Skyline) record with a 1.99 ERA (No. 3 in Skyline, No. 98 nationally) and .225 opposing batting average (T-2nd)...her ERA total is the 7th-best mark in program history, while her opposing batting average ranks ninth...1.09 WHIP ranked No. 93 nationally, while her five shutouts ranked No. 42...at the plate, batted .253 with 23 RBI (No. 3 on the Rams)...lofted a team-best and conference-high-tying three sacrifice flies.
