Matthew is a 2011 graduate of Hicksville High School.

Senior year...Named First Team All-Conference after starting every game...Ranked third on the team in both caused turnovers (32) and ground balls (50).

Junior year...Named Second Team All-Conference...Appeared in all 16 games, while ranking third on the team in caused turnovers (15) and fifth in ground balls (33).
