Donovan is a 2011 graduate of Northport High School, where he was the team captain in both lacrosse and wrestling. Donovan was All-Division in lacrosse, All-League in wrestling and a First Team All-League football player. He also earned the Golden Key Award while at Northport HS. Donovan is the son of Christopher and Miriam Devaney.
Senior year...Started every game and led the team in face-off wins (111) and ground balls (56)...Scored five goals and had three assists for eight points.
Junior year...Named Second Team All-Conference...Played in all 14 games...Led the team in face-off wins (143), face-off win percentage (.630) and ground balls (94), while adding nine goals and five assists...Was second in the Skyline in both ground balls per game (6.71) and face-off win percentage.
Sophomore year...Named First Team All-Skyline...Appeared in 13 games...Finished the season ranked 2nd in the conference and 18th in the Nation for Faceoff win percentage (.651), winning 136 of 209 faceoffs...Led the team with 92 ground balls, ranking him 3rd in the conference and 20th in the Nation with 7.08 ground balls per game...Posted 14 ground balls against Manhattanville on March 20th...Currently holds the highest faceoff win percentage in the FSC record books.
Freshman year...Played in 12 games, leading the team with a .500 faceoff percentage...Scored 12 goals, and picked up 43 ground balls (2nd highest on the team)
