Matt is a 2013 graduate of W.T. Clarke High School, where he was named All-State, All-County (2x) and All-Conference. His team captured the Nassau County Championship. Matt is the son of Thomas and Christine Seelinger.
Senior year...Named First Team All-Skyline, First Team All-ECAC, Second Team ABCA/Rawlings All-New York Region and Second Team D3baseball.com All-New York Region...Posted a 4-1 record with a 1.39 ERA...Led the conference in opponents batting average (.159) and strikeouts (69)...In Division III, ranked fourth for hits allowed per nine innings (4.88), sixth in WHIP (0.85), ninth in ERA and 16th for strikeouts per nine innings (12.02).
Junior year...Named Skyline Conference Pitcher of the Year, First Team All-Conference and ABCA/Rawlings Third Team All-Region...Appeared in 12 games, while starting seven...Led the team in opponents batting average (.195), innings pitched (58.1), strikeouts (63) and recorded Farmingdale State's only two complete games...Ranked second on the team in ERA (3.24) and wins (4)...Led the Skyline Conference in opponents batting average, was second in strikeouts and tied for third in fewest hits allowed (41)...Also ranked 28th in the Nation in hits allowed per nine innings (6.33) and 32nd for WHIP (0.99).
Sophomore year...Pitched in 11 games with four starts...Posted a 2-1 record with a 4.66 ERA...Held opponents to a .198 batting average, which was second best on the team...Ranked fourth in the Skyline Conference for K's (43).
Freshman year...Appeared in 11 games, while starting seven...Had a 3-1 record with a 3.86 earned run average...Held opposing batters to a team-low .198 average.
