Kayla Mendez (Staten Island, N.Y.) scored the only goal of the game 3:13 before the final whistle on Saturday afternoon, giving the Farmingdale State College women's soccer team its second-consecutive last-minute victory with a 1-0 decision against Gettysburg College
The match took place on the opening day of Roanoke College's Hyatt Place Showcase.
Mendez's first goal of the season came in the waning minutes for the Rams (2-1), as she collected a pass from sophomore
Katelyn Nunziato (North Babylon, N.Y.) at the top of the penalty area and sent a 23-yard strike past the Bullets' (0-2-1) goalkeeper.Â
