Men's Soccer Opens Season with Tie Versus Brooklyn College

Farmingdale State - 1, Brooklyn - 1
FARMINGDALE, N.Y. | The Farmingdale State College men's soccer team opened the 2026 season with a 1-1 tie against Brooklyn College on Tuesday afternoon.

The Bulldogs (0-0-1) registered the lone goal of the first half in the 30th minute. After an FSC (0-0-1) foul just inside the top of the box, Brooklyn's Adam Moharam converted the penalty kick, sending the ball into the left side of the net to take the 1-0 advantage.

The Rams were outshot 8-2 in the first half as they trailed 1-0 at the break.

FSC came out quick in the second half, tallying four shots and five corner kicks in the first 15 minutes.

Farmingdale State scored the equalizer in the 69th minute after sophomore forward Lucca Noboa (Freeport, N.Y.) gathered a loose ball and went one-on-one with a Brooklyn defender. He moved to the inside and scored from 15 yards out into the top right corner of the net to tie the match at 1-1.

The Rams registered two more corner kicks, while the Bulldogs attempted two shots, but neither team scored as it ended in a 1-1 tie.

FSC finished with nine shots, including three on target, and nine corner kicks. Brooklyn had 12 shots with just two on goal.

Junior goalkeeper Andrew Verdugo (East Elmhurst, N.Y.) recorded one save in his Farmingdale State debut.

The Rams will next travel to Western Connecticut State University on Thursday, September 3rd for a non-conference match at 4:00 p.m.
