2026 NCAA Division III Women's Lacrosse Championship - First Round
Wooster (Ohio) 16, Farmingdale State 8
YORK, Pa. |Â Farmingdale State College fell in the first round of the 2026 NCAA Division III Women's Lacrosse Championship on Saturday afternoon, as the Rams (9-10) dropped a 16-8 decision to The College of Wooster (17-2)Â in a game played at York College of Pennsylvania.Â
With the victory, the Fighting Scots will play in Sunday's 1 p.m. second round against the ninth-ranked host Spartans.
Junior goalkeeper
Giavanna Stamatelo (Levittown, N.Y.) made a career-high 20 saves for FSC, and the third-year Ram became just the second player in program history to stop more than 500 shots across her career. Stamatelo has now turned aside 516 shots during her time in a green and white uniform, and her 20-save showing against Wooster came after last Saturday's 18-save effort in the Skyline Conference Championship Final earned her Most Outstanding Player praise for the second time (2024).
Farmingdale State junior attack
Carly Livingston (Farmingdale, N.Y.), the two-time All-Boardwalk Region and Skyline Conference Player of the Year selection, led all players with six goals and seven points on the day. She now ranks second in FSC career history in goals (181) and points (323), while ranking third in assists (142). Livingston's 113 points (63g, 50a) in 2026 are the second most in a season in program history.
Wooster scored four goals in the first quarter, before Livingston bagged an unassisted tally 3:50 into the second quarter to get the Rams on the board. Two more goals on both sides of Livingston's score at the 6:22 mark sent the Fighting Scots into halftime with an 8-2 advantage. Stamatelo made 13 of her saves in the opening half of play, including nine in the second quarter to keep FSC within striking distance.
Senior midfielder
Kailee Coppola (Levittown, N.Y.) got onto the NCAA scoresheet with her 27th goal of the season at the 3:10 mark of the third quarter, while
Emily Sohm (Seaford, N.Y.) added her 39th of the campaign off a feed from Livingston (five ground balls, game-high-tying three caused turnovers) 1:57 before the final whistle.Â
FSC senior midfielder
Molly Espey (West Hempstead, N.Y.) controlled five draws at the midfield circle, and wraps up her career ranked No. 2 on the program's all-time list with 235.
