FSC Athletics Update - March 9

NEW YORK | The Skyline Conference released its latest spring weekly reports on Monday afternoon, and four student-athletes from Farmingdale State College garnered weekly kudos in advance of the school's final week of competition before spring break.

Men's Lacrosse (5-0) | Skyline Weekly Report

Farmingdale State picked up a pair of victories, including an 8-7 win Tuesday at Utica and a 20-4 decision versus Eastern Connecticut State.

The Rams swept the Skyline's three awards, including junior attack Joey Forchelli (Seaford, N.Y.) earning Offensive Player of the Week, junior goalie Connor Dobson (Islip, N.Y.) collecting Defensive Player of the Week praise, and freshman attack Ethan Vargas (Bay Shore, N.Y.) receiving Rookie of the Week recognition. Forchelli collected 11 points (7g, 4a) across the two-game stretch, while Vargas chipped in with nine (8g, a). Dobson registered a 5.67 goals against average and .667 save percentage to backstop the FSC defense, including making a pair of stops in the final three minutes of its one-goal triumph at Utica to preserve the victory.

The Rams return to action in Davenport, Fla., on March 17 in a noon start versus Western Connecticut State University.

Women's Lacrosse (0-3) | Skyline Weekly Report

Farmingdale State played a pair of non-conference games, dropping a midweek tilt at Vassar College, 18-9, and a Saturday afternoon, 17-8 decision versus Montclair State.

Junior attack Carly Livingston (Farmingdale, N.Y.) earned her second straight Offensive Player of the Week honor from the conference, after recording six (5g, a) and five (3g, 2a) points against Vassar and Montclair State, respectively.

The Rams will play a pair of road games against New Jersey Athletic Conference institutions this week, including Wednesday's 5 p.m. start at Ramapo and a noontime opening draw Saturday at Stockton.

Baseball (0-1) | Skyline Weekly Report

FSC opened up its 2026 slate Sunday with a 11-6 home defeat at the hands of Eastern Connecticut State. The team will play host to Lehman on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m., before starting its spring break schedule in Davenport, Fla., with a 7 p.m. first pitch on Friday against Clarkson University. The Rams will then play a 3 p.m. doubleheader the following afternoon versus the University of Scranton.

Indoor Track & Field

The track & field teams wrapped up their indoor season Friday and Saturday at the All-Atlantic Region Championships at The Armory in New York. Highlighting the team's performance was freshman multi-event specialist Ethan Zacarolli (Hillsdale, N.Y.), who broke his own program record in the heptathlon with a fourth-place total of 4,721 points. His 60-meter hurdles time of 8.68 seconds was the best of the heptathlon field, as was his 1.93 meters (6 foot, 4 inches) leap in the high jump. Fellow Hillsdale, New York native and recently named New Jersey Athletic Conference Field Athlete of the Year, junior Adonias Mercado, placed eighth in the shot put with a mark of 14.99m (49-2.25).

Farmingdale State is scheduled to kick off its 2026 outdoor season on April 2, when the teams compete at Kean University's Cougars Distance Carnival.

Men's Tennis (1-2)

The Rams opened the spring portion of their schedule on the road Saturday with a 7-0 road defeat at Hobart College. FSC is next in action March 24, when it kicks off Skyline play with a 7 p.m. start against Yeshia University at the USTA National Tennis Center in Flushing, N.Y.

Softball

The defending Skyline Conference champions will start their 2026 season on their spring break trip in Clermont, Fla., beginning with single games March 16 against McDaniel (10 a.m.) and SUNY Fredonia (12:30 p.m.).

Golf

Farmingdale State will travel for its annual spring break trip at the Saddlebrook Resort in Tampa, March 14-21, before playing host to the four-team FSC Glen Oaks Invitational on March 23.
